The Lake Charles Regional Airport is committed to offering the citizens of, and visitors to Southwest Louisiana the very best in regards to public safety.
The Airport has an Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) Department that remains on standby during flight hours ready to respond at a moments notice to any aeronautical and medical incident. The ARFF department is made up of highly trained individuals that continually develop their skills to match the ever-changing aviation industry. The Airport employs the latest technology in personal protection and rapid intervention vehicles.
In addition to the ARFF Department the Lake Charles Regional Airport also employs 24-hour security on and around the Airport premises. The Transportation Security Administration maintains a professional staff of baggage screeners that use various technologies to ensure passenger’s safety in the sky. Lastly, all of the personnel employed by the Airport Authority are trained in CPR and basic first responder. Medical equipment is located in the terminal building in the event that an airport visitor should fall ill.
Public safety is the Lake Charles Regional Airport’s primary concern. Air transportation is among the safest modes of transportation and every year, millions of passengers take to the skies for business and leisure travel without incident. The Lake Charles Regional Airport understands, however, that safety cannot be taken for granted.
